June is National Trail Month! Celebrate the development of the Circuit Trails and join PEC on our bike rides on Circuit Trails throughout the region. On June 25, discover the natural beauty and historic heritage of the Delaware and Lehigh Canal Trail and the Delaware and Raritan Canal Trail.
The two canal trails are preserved the historic pathways that carried coal and iron from Wilkes-Barre to Philadelphia and between New York and Philadelphia. Today, the D&L and D&R Trails connects people to nature, culture, communities, recreation and our industrial heritage.
We will ride north on the D&L Canal Trail to New Hope where we will cross the river to Lambertville for lunch and antique shopping. The ride is aproximately 14 miles round trip and we will ride at a leasurly pace.
You are encouraged to wear a snappy outfit on this vintage jaunt. Tweed is excellent for biking, we hear.
